The 4c’s Language Trip to Eastbourne
Day 1
We took off from Graz at 11:40am. At Gatwick airport we were picked up by bus and brought to Eastbourne. There we had lunch, a short tour through the town and finally were picked up by our host families.
Day 2
On the second day it was raining. In the afternoon, after 4 hours of school, we had originally planned to take a tour through Eastbourne but we cancelled it due to the rain. We went to the cinema instead.
Day 3
After school we hiked to Beachy Head, the famous chalk cliffs nearby. It was pretty stormy but we made it to the top and no one was blown away.
Day 4
Saturday was a special day, because it was our first day in London. We went there by train.
Actually we saw the complete royal family at Buckingham Palace because it was „Trouping Of The Colours“ day!
Then we went to Westminster Abbey, Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. Because we were hungry from all the walking we took the tube to China Town and had lunch there.
After that we went to the British Museum. It was really big and amazing. Finally we travelled back home.
Day 5
Sunday was our second day in London. We saw the Tower of London and the Tower Bridge. Then we went shopping and had lunch in Carnaby Street. Finally we visited the Imperial War Museum and returned to Eastbourne. The way home was very exhausting because our train got cancelled and we had a long travel via Brighton standing or sitting on the floor of the overcrowded train.
Day 6
In the morning we had school again and then we had a great, relaxing day on the beach.
We even went swimming in the Channel although the water temperature was not more than 15 degrees Centigrade
Day 7
After school we went to Brighton by train. It was very beautiful and warm. We did some shopping and had a nice time there. In the evening we had a pub dinner together. Back at our hosts we had to pack the luggage.
Day 8
We had to get up very early and left Eastbourne at 4am in the morning. We were all very tired on our flight back home. We were happy to see our parents again but sad that this amazing school trip was already over.
