Our English Week by Tobias Freidl
Wednesday: We traveled all day. Because of all the traveling, this day was pretty tiring.
When I finally sat next to my friends on the plane and was able to lean back, it was the first
time I was able to relax. In the evening we arrived at our host family’s house, I was really
happy that we had such a cool family.
Thursday: The next day we were taken to school and spent the morning writing about where
we come from and what our names are. My school group was pretty cool since it was just
friends. In the afternoon we got a guided tour through Eastbourne and I was attacked by
seagulls for my chipsfries, which I found funny. Then we went shopping and took the wrong
bus home, which meant we had to walk for 30 minutes.
Friday: The next day we found our way to school by ourselves and, like every day this week,
we were there an hour too early due to strange travel times. We then went shopping
and to the beach until we had to get to school. In the afternoon we had lunch, went to dinner
and then went to the beach where we bathed and played football. After the program ended,
we took the bus home where we were waiting for Paul and Marcel because they had moved
in with us.
Saturday: The next day we took the later bus as we were heading to London. We met at the
train station and took the train to London. In London we were able to witness King Charles‘
birthday parade. We went shopping and went to the British Museum. When we were back
in Eastbourne we got to play football with a couple of friends.
Sunday: On Sunday morning we had the same routine as the day before. When we
were in London we first walked through James’ Park, saw The Houses of
Parliament, The Westminster Abbey and Big Ben. We even heard Big Ben ringing before
looking at the London Eye, the Tower Bridge and the Tower. We then briefly
went to the Imperial War Mmuseum and returned home again. I met up with friends
there again.
Monday: On Monday we took the earlier bus again and went to the beach. Then we were
back at school. In the afternoon we hiked to the Beachy Heads where we played
Werewolf. The overview was beautiful. Then we went to the beach and had a quick
swim. After the program I went to play with friends again. We were then chased by
some 16 year olds but looking back I find that quite funny.
Tuesday: On Tuesday we went back to our morning routine. We went to school and then
drove straight to Brighton, where we only had food and unfortunately didn’t look at
anything due to the girls‘ request – we just went shopping. When we got back we went out
to eat together and then I went to the park again with friends. Then I spent the night with
Paul.
Wednesday: On Wednesday, Paul and I woke the others up with water before setting off on
a long, tiring journey. I generally enjoyed the week and it was super fun. Nevertheless, I am
was happy to be home again.
